In the 1930s, the government of Great Britain watched as Hitler and Nazi Germany built a huge military machine and started invading smaller peace-loving countries. This came to an abrupt end in the late 1930s after Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain met in Munich with Hitler to sign an agreement. When he returned to England he declared that "he knew how to handle Hitler." In the next day or so the Nazis invaded Poland! The lion, Winston Churchill, who had been warning for years of the danger that Hitler posed, became the replacement for Mr. Chamberlain. More than any person, he is responsible for rallying his and the other freedom loving countries against all odds, preserving freedom. He was despised by the Labor Party, who dispatched him after the war was over.
In this country during those same years the mafia in NYC and John Dillinger's gang in Chicago had turf wars for control. Both factions were ruthless, bloodthirsty gangs who openly challenged all things good and killed people without regard as to who they were for, or what they did. Someone has said "there is no honor among thieves." Do you believe that if these two dishonorable groups signed any agreement that it would be kept by them? Of course not! Just so, Hitler would not honor England's signed offer.
History repeats itself and unfortunately we never learn, mostly because we do not read history and we are too nave to see how we could be watching a repeat of the same tragedy. We watch helplessly as two world leaders play chess with the world's population - not just two We watch these two leaders that are masters of deceit and deception and known to be liars, steadfastly cling to wanting an agreement which is certain to be an obstacle to the free world and may destroy civilization. Why Could it be that our leader would rather play the part of a Benedict Arnold in order to leave a terrible legacy instead of standing for right
Both of these men have shown that they can not be trusted to act from pure motives. They are proof that there is "no honor among thieves." No matter what their station in life may be! Do you honestly trust these two to reach an agreement that will be of any benefit to mankind for years to come?
Great men and women of the Judeo-Christian faith have over the centuries sought God's guidance through prayer to Jehovah. They include, but do not exclude, many others! Abraham, Noah, Joseph, Moses, King David, Solomon, the disciples and apostles, pilgrims, founding fathers, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, Margaret Thatcher, countless Christian ministers and lay people, priests and parishioners, and Jewish rabbis and congregations. Does it make you a little sad that prayer, the Bible, Christians and Jews are deemed to be evil, instead of encouraging others to live as they say in their profession of faith?
One could say that our country has turned its back on those movements for good and embraced sin, evil and death. All around us are people who hate God and believe that they are themselves gods!
In an 1838 speech in Springfield, Ill., Abraham Lincoln said:
"All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth {our own excepted} in their military chest; with a Bonaparte for a commander, could not by force take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years. At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide."
Are we there?
