Shirley Ann Tarallo, 86, of Hayden passed away peacefully on Monday, June 8, 2015 at her residence in Hayden. Born in Coeur d'Alene on October 4th, 1928 to Justus G. Smith and Vera G. Smith. She had one sister, Justine M. Smith, who preceded her in death in April of 2012. Shirley grew up in Coeur d'Alene and graduated from Coeur d'Alene High school in 1946. She attended University of Idaho for 2 years. While in Moscow she met then later married Pat Brown of Idaho Falls, ID which is where they resided. They had 2 children, Debra and Patrick (Rick). They divorced in 1958.
One of Shirley's many hobbies was raising exotic fish in her basement which is how she met her second husband, Louis Tarallo of Coraopolis, PA. They married July 2nd, 1960 in Reno, NV, and had one child, Gina. In 1986 they moved back to her birthplace. Shirley's other pastimes included raising dogs for show, sewing, stained glass, china painting, spinning and knitting wool and raising fancy banty chickens.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Lou Tarallo, her daughters Debra Biorn of Council Bluffs, IA and Gina Lancaster of Hayden, ID, her grandsons Jason Biorn and Trevor Biorn and 2 great grandchildren, Steele and Skylar, all of Council Bluffs, IA. Her son, Rick, preceded her in death in 1985.
At her request, no services will be held. Yates funeral home was responsible for her burial at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d'Alene. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Shirley's name to Auburn Crest Hospice.
