Remedies Lakeside Pharmacy will provide low-cost screenings to West Shore residents Thursday in tandem with the University of Montana’s IPHARM program.

IPHARM (which stands for ImProving Health Among Rural Montanans), a University of Montana initiative involving pharmacy students, will come to the Lakeside pharmacy to administer several tests for just $15 each from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, at the pharmacy and gift shop at 206 Stoner Loop in Lakeside.

Justin VanCampen, the owner of Remedies and a 1999 University of Montana pharmacy graduate, said the event was a good chance for the community and the aspiring pharmacists to help one another.

“Anyone is welcome,” he said. “The fee is just to help the University run the tests and pay for their ride up here. It’s a great way for the students to get experience.”

The three tests offered are a bone density test, a blood sugar test and a cholesterol test. The cholesterol requires some fasting beforehand.

For more information or to schedule an appointment, call Remedies at 844-2103.
