A Kalispell man has been accused of cutting the brake lines on his mother’s car.

Corey Jonathan Woods, 23, was arrested and charged with felony criminal endangerment this week.

According to court documents, Woods’ mother first called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to report a verbal dispute with her son on June 15.

She described a “very heated” argument.

When a deputy arrived, the incident appeared to be over and Woods had left.

A half hour later, Woods’ mother called the Sheriff’s Office again — this time from the side of the U.S. 93 bypass.

She said the brakes were unresponsive going down a hill, but she was able to downshift and eventually come to a stop. She suspected the brake lines had been cut.

A deputy looked at the vehicle and it appeared that the lines were cut with a knife, according to court documents.

Authorities located Woods two days later. He allegedly admitted cutting the brake lines on his mother’s car.

Woods is being held in the Flathead County Detention Center on an initial $6,000 bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned on July 2.
