POST FALLS - Kootenai County Fire and Rescue has hired Steve Isaacson as its emergency medical services division chief and Jessie Morrow as director of administration.

Isaacson will start on Monday. He replaces Bill Keeley, who accepted a job at Kootenai County Emergency Medical Services System (KCEMSS) as division chief of clinical services.

KCFR covers Post Falls, Stateline, Huetter, Dalton Gardens, Wolf Lodge and Fernan Village.

Isaacson, 59, has worked in the emergency medical field since 1979. He worked up the ranks of the Overland Park Fire Department in the Kansas City, Mo., area, starting as a firefighter before eventually becoming the EMS chief.

He has been retired from Overland Park for about two years.

"For the first time in my life I'm coming from a senior-level position to a whole new group and not working my way up," he said. "This was too good of an opportunity not to pursue."

Isaacson said the relationship between KCEMSS and the local fire districts is one of the most progressive systems in the country. KCEMSS oversees contract medical care provided by more than 400 employees who work at 10 county fire agencies and Harrison Ambulance.

Morrow will start her position as director of administration on July 1. She will replace Samantha Babich, whose last day is July 15. Morrow has worked at KCFR for eight years - first as a bookkeeper and the past three as the accountant.

Babich, who has served on Post Falls' Urban Renewal Agency for the past three years, is moving to Seattle this summer due to her husband Dan accepting a position with Amazon's global imaging team.
