GREAT FALLS — Solid pitching and a massive hitting attack carried the Kalispell Lakers AA to a 4-1, 17-5 American Legion baseball doubleheader sweep of the Great Falls Chargers on Sunday evening.

Robert Reaser and Andrew Schleusner combined on a 4-hitter in the opener.

Kalispell belted 18 hits in taking the second game. Leif Ericksen was 4 for 5 while Brandon Maassen and Levi Brenneman were both 3 for 4.

Reaser, Schleusner and Patrick O’Connell had two hits each.

The Lakers and Chargers play a single game today at 3 p.m.

Johnny Sapa and Greyson Bistodeau combined on a 1-hitter as the visiting Glacier Twins A blanked the Kalispell Lakers A 11-0 in the second game of an American Legion baseball doubleheader.

Sapa was on the mound for four innings and Bistodeau one.

Glacier had 13 hits with everyone in the order having at least one; and all but one player scored a run.

Sapa, Tyler Murphy, Vinny Smith, AJ Wetsch and Derek Kastella all doubled for the Twins.

Smith led the hit parade with three. Sapa, Walburn and Wetsch had two each.

Eric Seaman had the lone hit for Kalispell.

Glacier was just as dominant in the first game.

Murphy and Wetsch combined on a 3-hit shutout for a 15-0 victory. Murphy went 1 2/3 innings with Wetsch going 3 1/3.

Wetsch struck out six batters, walked none and allowed one hit.

The Twins had 16 hits in this outing led by Bistodeau, who went 3 for 3 and drove in four runs. Austin Robins had three hits.

With two hits each were Walburn, Wetsch and Colten Parker. Bistodeau and Howke belted doubles.

Jaycob Serrano doubled for the Kalispell.

Seaman and Gunnar Marsh had singles for Kalispell.

Both games ended after five innings on the 10-run mercy rule. The Twins have won six straight.

The Glacier Twins (22-9) play a doubleheader at the Kootenai Valley Rangers on Tuesday.

Kalispell has a doubleheader on Tuesday at the Bitterroot Red Sox.
