Deadline nears for SuperTag lottery entry
Samuel Wilson | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 10 years, 5 months AGO
The deadline for Montana’s SuperTag license lottery is approaching.
Hunters have until July 2 to purchase an unlimited number of $5 entries into the statewide lottery. An up-to-date conservation license is required to participate.
Each year in mid-July, eight winners are randomly selected in separate drawings to receive a tag to hunt one of the following species: moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goat, deer, elk, antelope, bison or mountain lion.
The tags can be used in any hunting district open for that species during the fall hunting season.
Last year, the agency brought in $223,375 in entries for all eight species. The bighorn sheep lottery was by far the most popular, accounting for nearly $100,000.
Proceeds are used by the agency to expand hunting access and enhance enforcement work.
Lottery entries can be purchased at the Kalispell regional office at 490 N. Meridian Rd. or by visiting fwp.mt.gov, then clicking “SuperTag.”
