The city of Hayden's work on Stoddard Park earned the city an award June 11 from the Idaho Association of Cities.

Hayden won a City Achievement Award in the Parks and Recreation category. These awards are given in several categories and recognize the work of cities around Idaho that have implemented pioneering approaches to improve quality of life, address community challenges, and enhance service delivery in cost-effective ways.

City officials accepted the award during the 68th AIC Annual Conference in Boise.

During the conference, AIC members elected Hayden Council member Jeri DeLange to the position of second vice president for 2015-2016. More than 250 delegates representing cities from around the state were in attendance at the conference.

The Association of Idaho Cities was formed in 1947 and is a nonpartisan, nonprofit corporation organized to serve Idaho's 200 incorporated cities. AIC influences policies and provides education, training and technical assistance to strengthen the ability of city elected officials and staff to serve their communities.
