Legion Baseball: Thom tosses gem for Loggers

LIBBY — Brayden Thom pitched a complete-game four-hitter, guiding The Libby Loggers to a nonconference American Legion baseball victory, 8-1 over the Capital (Washington) Senators at home on Wednesday.
Thom nearly threw a shutout, but the Senators sneaked one run across the plate in the fifth inning.
The Loggers needed just two innings to score their eight runs, posting five in the bottom of the first and three more in the second.
Jared Winslow went 3 for 4 at the plate, launching a home run and driving in two runs.
Trace Tamarro went 2 for 2 with a home run.
The Loggers host the Big Bucks tournament, starting today.

POLSON — An infield error allowed the Bitteroot Bucs to break a tie for a 7-6 extra-innings victory on their way to a sweep of the Mission Valley Mariners on Wednesday.
Jonah Burke was 3 for 5 for the Mariners.
The Bucs took Game 2, 7-4.
Jacob Harrod and Bransen Krebs each went 2 for 3 in the nightcap.
