SANDPOINT - Schweitzer Mountain Resort is holding its annual Summer Celebration, rebranded this year as 7B Sunday.

To celebrate the beginning of the summer season, the resort will be offering free chairlift rides Sunday between 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The event is also expanding this year, with Bonner County business, associations, restaurants and vendors showcasing their goods and services.

"Our free chairlift rides are a great draw and a perfect opportunity for our local partners to get the word out about their businesses," said Dig Chrismer, marketing manager for Schweitzer Mountain Resort in a press release. "Our county boasts an amazing lake, a vibrant town, a fantastic mountain, and is home to some incredible people. We want to celebrate this by giving our guests the opportunity to get to know all of our awesome 7B neighbors."

Vendor booths will be set up throughout the village.

The event includes live music throughout the afternoon from local 7B musicians Mountain Monarch Band, Harold's IGA, and Samantha Carson.

Schweitzer's summer operations begin in earnest on Friday, and include chairlift rides, a zipline, a climbing wall, and a sluice box. All are open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Sept. 7.

Located in the rugged Selkirk Mountains of the Idaho panhandle and the northwest Rocky Mountains, Schweitzer Mountain Resort overlooks Sandpoint and Lake Pend Oreille.
