Danny Alan Searls, 52
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 9 years, 6 months AGO
Danny Alan Searls, 52, was called home Saturday, June 20, 2015. During the last eight months he battled liver cancer and proved to truly be one of "God's Relentless Warriors." At 7:23 p.m. with his loving wife of nine years, children, loving family, and brothers and sisters in Christ, he drew his first breath before our Heavenly Father.
Danny was born in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on May 12, 1963, to Dan Searls and Natalie Lamont (Ulery). He is their oldest child. He lived most of his life growing up in North Idaho and graduated from Lakeland High School where he played football and wrestled.
On Jan. 3, 1990, Danny's first son David Alan was born and less than two years later on July 26, 1991, Derek Albert would be born.
Danny would choose his career as a truck driver for over 20 years of his life. He did long haul with Refers, and local, he would even spend three of those years hauling tankers in Williston, N.D. He worked his last year in Spokane hauling cars up until his diagnosis and admittance into Kootenai Health.
In 2005 Danny met Cherilyn. They would become best friends and share a passion for God, their children and family. On April 1, 2006, Danny enlisted help from their kids and asked her to marry him at "The Falls" in Post Falls, Idaho. He would also insist that they make their covenant with God on July 7, 2007, in Blanchard, Idaho. On this day their two families would officially become one and they would spend the rest of their lives together. Danny would become a dad/daddy to Reyanna (Princess), Richard (My Son), Shyanne (Baby Girl), and Adrian (Son Cheeze). Danny would be blessed with the big family he always wanted. He would teach his sons to be god fearing men and his daughters what one looks like.
Danny is a husband, father, son, brother and uncle, who was always full of life, love and craziness. Most importantly Danny was a god fearing man, who pushed the good in everything and strived to be the best father he could be.
Danny was a man who accepted and loved everyone he met, making them feel as if they were always a part of the family. He always had a smile on his face and gave you the best Danny Searls hugs. Better were his stories, which he told with such intensity, excitement and silliness you almost felt like you were there. He loved to take his family mudding, dirt biking, rides on his Honda Shadow and floating the river. On the outside he looked rough and tough, but on the inside he was truly a gentle soul. Most importantly he taught his family to put God first.
Danny is survived by his wife, Cherilyn; sons David, Derek, Richard, Adrian and Brad (in-law); daughters Reyanna, Shyanne, Melissa (in-law) and Brittany (in-law); siblings Debbie, Melody, Karl, Valerie and Jessica; and the rest of his family.
A celebration of life is planned for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, at Real Life Ministries, 1866 N. Cecil Road, Post Falls. A potluck luau will follow at 245 N. Columbia Ave., Post Falls.
