A bicyclist who collided with a minivan Tuesday on West Valley Drive was hurt but not critically.
The crash happened at about 11 a.m. Trooper Patrick Herman with the Montana Highway Patrol said the bicycle and van were both headed north. As the cyclist approached the Three Mile Drive intersection, she started to make a U-turn to head back south.
Herman said that the cyclist looked back before turning but apparently didn’t see the minivan, which was preparing to pass.
The two collided at the intersection. Nobody in the van was hurt. Herman said excessive speed was not a factor.
The bicycle rider was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
“The bicyclist has injuries, nothing life-threatening,” Herman said.
The West Valley Fire Department and West Flathead EMS assisted the highway patrol on the call.
