A Libby man convicted of sexually assaulting two 14-year-olds was given more prison time after he skipped his first sentencing hearing.

Brandon Heath Hammack, 37, was sentenced on June 18 on felony convictions of bail jumping and sexual assault.

Flathead County District Judge Heidi J. Ulbricht gave him 12 years in the Montana State Prison, with designation as a Level II sex offender.

Hammack was due to be sentenced on Nov. 20, 2014, on the sexual assault charge after previously being released. According to a plea agreement, he could have received a seven-year prison sentence. Additional counts of sexual assault and sexual abuse of children were dropped through the court process.

Court records show that Hammack didn’t show up and a $75,000 warrant was issued. He was sentenced this month with the added charge of bail jumping.

According to records for the original charge, two 14-year-old girls told investigators that Hammack had inappropriately touched them. He texted one of them and discussed sexual topics, including asking the girl to have sex.
