INSURE: Pay for others' mistakes

Please be aware of your medical insurance. I went to the doctor for something that was 100 percent covered, yet the insurer denied it, so I paid it. I contacted them and the response was, the doctor coded it wrong, thus the denial. They said they do not tell a doctor how to code it.

The insurance carrier takes our monthly premiums, over 100 percent PREVENTATIVE, then when it comes to pay they refuse because of a clerical error, and flat out refuse the reimbursement. The doctor offered some compensation, but I refused it because I did receive the service, however I pay for a service that is required, use it and am denied making me feel like I have to be a medical clerk and make sure it is coded correctly, when it is the insurance company’s responsibility to do so.

So everyone be prepared to pay your premiums and get refused to have it paid by your insurance company.
