Clint Peters has resigned as head girls basketball coach at Whitefish High School.
Whitefish activities director Aric Harris said Peters informed the team of his decision to step down after the team’s final game at the Northwestern A divisional tournament in Whitefish.
Whitefish lost a loser-out contest to Libby on Feb. 28, 48-37. The Bulldogs went 1-2 in tournament play.
Whitefish finished the season with a 3-18 mark overall.
The Bulldogs were 1-19 in Peters’ first season.
Whitefish went 0-8 the last two seasons in Northwestern A league play. The Bulldogs were 1-7 in 2012-2013.
Harris told the Whitefish Pilot he is looking to “hire someone long term” to give the program some stability.
Peters replaced Sean Duff, who was pressured to resign after four seasons. Duff’s contract was not renewed by the Whitefish School District board.
Whitefish won eight games in four seasons with Duff as head coach. He was 1-19 overall in his final season.
Duff replaced Tim Olson, who coached three seasons. Olson was 29-38 overall with a state tournament appearance in 2008.
Olson replaced Dean McFadden, who led WHS to second and third place finishes at state.
