PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Portland Police say a multiple vehicle crash on Interstate 5 in Portland has left nine people injured, including two children and one adult in critical condition.

The crash happened just before 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, on I-5 northbound and Victory Boulevard. Five cars were involved in the crash.

In addition to the three in critical condition, the extent of the other six people’s injuries is not known at this time.

Six ambulances have responded to the scene to treat and transport the patients.

I-5 northbound will be closed to all traffic for several hours. All northbound traffic is being diverted off at the North Rosa Parks Way. Drivers needing to continue northbound can use I-205 or re-enter I-5 from Marine Drive.
