Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 10 years, 9 months AGO
Bonita Marie Ament, 68, died peacefully while surrounded by her loved ones at the Hospice House of North Idaho in Hayden on March 13, 2015. She was referred to as "Bonnie" which is the name she preferred. She was born on April 15, 1946, in Forest Grove, Ore.
Bonnie was one of seven children born to parents Carl Cropp and Vivian (Ball) Lontz. She was raised in the Silver Valley and attended school in Kellogg. She went on to marry Charles Smelcer and had twin girls: Tina and Terri, daughter Kathy and son Robbie. They later divorced and Bonnie married Ronnie V. Ament. She went on to have three more children: daughters Rhonda and Kimberly, and son Ronnie.
In her earlier days, Bonnie worked in numerous restaurants and at one time delivered cars for a local dealership. She then decided to settle down as a full time homemaker. She enjoyed taking her children to the beach, gardening, cooking and crocheting. She enjoyed having family barbecues at the park and holidays with family.
Bonnie enjoyed life and lived it her way! She was so kindhearted and such a social butterfly. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and everyone who knew her. Toward the end of her life, she enjoyed her pets and held close to her Catholic faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Cropp and Vivian Ball; twin daughters, Tina and Terri; sisters Sally, Maxine and Judy; and brother Danny.
She is survived by her husband Ron Ament; daughters Kathy, Rhonda and Kimberly; sons Robbie and Ronnie; and brothers Raymond and Myron Cropp. She had 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and also leaves behind cousins, nieces, nephews, and many loved family and friends.
The service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, at Bell Tower Funeral Home, 3398 E. Jenalan Ave., Post Falls.
