Derrick Washburn, 36

Derrick Washburn was taken from his family and friends way too soon, at the age of 36, on March 4, 2015. Derrick was a loving husband, dedicated father and adored son, brother and uncle.

Derrick was born Oct. 28, 1978, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He later moved to Alaska where he stayed.

Derrick was a hard worker and did body shop work for many years. He later went on to work with Nabors Drilling in Alaska.

He enjoyed camping and fishing in Alaska on the Kenai River.

Derrick was preceded in death by his daughter, Kiara; mother Rita Plummer; and grandfather Mel Sturman.

He is survived by his wife Nora Walsh; father Ron Washburn; children Keegan, Kailei, Owen and Khloe; sister Christa Jennings; grandparents Don and Lil Washburn; grandmother Shirley Sturman; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Please join in Derrick's Celebration of Life at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, at Lake City Community Church, 6000 N. Ramsey Road, Coeur d'Alene.
