Eleanor E. Atwood, 77, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, passed away March 12, 2015, in Coeur d'Alene. She was born Jan. 23, 1938, in Mount Vernon, Wash., to Sidney and Helen (Knowlton) Douglas.
Eleanor married John Atwood on Dec. 6, 1971, in Arlington, Wash. They moved to Spokane, Wash., in 1975 and then to Hauser, Idaho, in 1992 before finally settling in Coeur d'Alene in 2005.
Eleanor was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attended the Hayden 3rd Ward.
She was quite the artist as she painted and enjoyed ceramics, along with many other hobbies that included florist and miniature floral arrangements. Eleanor was also instrumental in the Genealogical Extraction Program in Coeur d'Alene.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her son, Mark Register. She is survived by her husband John; son Michael Register of Coeur d'Alene; daughter Vicky (John) Fulkerson of Columbus, Ohio; brother Richard Douglas of Marysville, Wash.; sister Joan Anderson of Copperopolis, Calif.; as well as eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral service is being held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on West Hanley Avenue in Coeur d'Alene, with burial that afternoon at 4 p.m. at Greenwood Memorial Park in Spokane.
