Lillian Maria Hunt, 93
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 9 years, 10 months AGO
Lillian Maria Hunt, 93, closed her eyes and went home to be with Jesus on Feb. 26, 2015.
Lillian was born in Rochester, Alberta, Canada, on May 29, 1921, to Swedish immigrant parents Ernest J. Nordberg and Augusta T. Wignell. Swedish was her first language.
On June 1, 1938, Lillian married Wilbur C. Hunt and they shared 72 years together.
Lillian's table was always full of laughter, family and friends. Her passion was aiding the disadvantaged and the physically impaired. Her love of children was without measure. Lillian and Wilbur cared for their disabled son for 55 years. She worked for the Shaklee Corporation in sales and distribution part time for 10 years.
Lillian dreamed "big" and had "big" faith. Her interests were her family, cooking, canning, nutrition, photography, gardening, sewing, crocheting, knitting, embroidery, quilting, reading, berry picking, fishing, baseball, and in later years Facebook. Because she was born of immigrant parents and also a Canadian, American history held special meaning to Lillian. She also enjoyed traveling.
Lillian believed the Bible had the answer to every life situation. All who knew her will long remember Lillian and Wilbur's faith, special love for each other, and the loving home they made together.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur; son Loren, parents, and six brothers and sisters. She is survived by sons Paul Hunt (Gail) of Coeur d'Alene, Jim Hunt (Jeanne) of Boise, Jerry Hunt (Chris) of Post Falls, Idaho, Steve Hunt (Susan) of Elk, Wash., Nathan Hunt of Greenacres, Wash., and daughter Sharon Holcomb (Allan) of Spokane Valley, Wash.; 17 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; brother David Nordberg of Gig Harbor, Wash., sisters Myrtle Nash of Kalispell, Mont., Ruth Johnson of Bothell, Wash., and 99 nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed.
Graveside service will be held at noon on Saturday, March 21, at the Hunt Cemetery, Aspen Road, Kingston, Idaho. A memorial service will be held in Post Falls, Idaho, at a later date.
English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls, has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
