Great Falls basketball

Legel, a 5-foot-5 junior guard from Coeur d'Alene High, finished the season sixth in the nation with 603 points (17.7 per game) for the Argos (24-10), which lost in the NAIA Tournament Elite Eight against Oklahoma City on Saturday in Independence, Mo. Legel was seventh in assists with 167 and 19th in free throw percentage (.810) after going 145-for-179.

Kendalyn Brainard

Great Falls basketball

Brainard, a 5-foot-11 sophomore forward from Coeur d'Alene High, started 20 of 34 games for the Argos, totaling 109 rebounds and 35 assists.

Vanessa Shippy

Oklahoma State softball

Shippy, a freshman from Lake City High, has started all 32 games for the Cowgirls (16-15), and has a .326 batting average. Shippy is third on the team in slugging percentage (.500), second in RBIs and third in stolen bases (14).

Carli Rosenthal

Saint Mary's basketball

Rosenthal, a 6-2 senior post from Coeur d'Alene High, had 12 points and seven rebounds for the Gaels (22-10) in a 83-64 win against the Fresno State Bulldogs on Monday in the second round of the WNIT Tournament in Moraga, Calif. Saint Mary's will face Sacramento State in the third round on Thursday in Sacramento.

Cassandra Thompson

Portland basketball

Thompson, a 6-2 senior forward from Timberlake High, scored 896 points in her career for the Pilots. Thompson scored 16 points in 37 minutes and grabbed six rebounds in a 66-58 loss to Santa Clara in the opening round of the West Coast Conference tournament on March 5 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.

Caelyn Orlandi

Lewis-Clark State basketball

Orlandi, a 5-9 sophomore guard from Coeur d'Alene High, finished sixth in the nation in free throw percentage (.840) on 89-of-106 shooting. Orlandi started all 32 games and scored 415 points (12.9 per game) for the Warriors (21-11), who lost in the opening round of the NAIA Tournament to Oklahoma City.

Brooke Litalien

Lewis-Clark State basketball

Litalien, a 5-7 sophomore guard from Post Falls High, had 58 assists, 69 rebounds and scored 193 points for the Warriors (21-11).
