What are your priorities in life?
DC | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 9 years, 11 months AGO
What is your priority? Is it your health, wealth, family, career, or spiritual life? These are all important facets of your life, and together give you purpose and direction. Our lives are not simply one thing, but when one thing is out of balance, it can cause turmoil in the other areas.
How each one of us looks at health is different, we are raised with a different philosophy or perspective. For some, it is about doing as little as possible and looking for a quick fix. For others they work hard to eat organic, train daily, and include preventative treatment to ward off injury and illness. It is important to find a common ground between both of the spectrums. When it comes to health, no one is perfect but we can all improve and the reward is feeling better and hopefully better overall health. It is never too late to make better choices, but WE MUST CHOOSE to make that change or choice. It is amazing how the human body can heal and repair itself if it is given the right tools, treatment and nutrients to rebuild.
This ultimately also comes down to money. What is your thought on wealth? Are we willing to spend money on your health, even if insurance doesn't cover it? For many, the answer is no. But I must ask, WHY? Why would someone not choose to spend money on their health, when they choose to spend money on fun activities, coffee, going out to eat, clothing, or non-essentials? We all agree our health is important. But many do not feel it is valuable enough to spend their hard-earned money. Why do we disagree that we need to spend money on keeping our health? This disconnect can delay treatment or possibly cost you more money in the long-term.
Part of the reason is that we are bombarded from the media with the idea that we should only react to our health if we are sick or have pain. But in reality we need to be proactive. I challenge you today, to make ONE CHOICE that is proactive in the area of your health. You may not see the change today, tomorrow or next week, but you will see the reward in months or years from now. Together, we can be a healthier community for generations to come, but it starts with a CHOICE. Call us today if we can help guide you in any of your new choices, 208-966-4425.

Motor vehicle accidents: When should I get evaluated for injuries?
The answer is immediately following the accident, even if you don't have any pain. The reason for this is that many individuals do not display symptoms for days, weeks or even months after the incident. It is important to have a thorough evaluation by a qualified physician, either your family physician or a chiropractor to determine if you sustained any injuries or complicating factors of previous health concerns. Some family physicians may even make a recommendation for physical therapy or chiropractic care.
Text neck
Modern day technology is having a negative effect on our spine and body mechanics. Think back to 10 years ago, cell phone usage wasn't anywhere near what it is today. Only half or maybe a third of high school students even had a cell phone back when texting was limited to about 200 per month. Nowadays, however, it seems the average age to receive your first smart phone is around 10 years old. Below are some details about the bad cell phone habits the doctors at Optimal Chiropractic see with many patients.
Joint pain: When should parents worry?
What does this mean and should you be concerned? After 16 years of private practice and pediatric care, I have found that anytime a child complains about joint pain it should not be overlooked. I understand that some children are more sensitive and complain on a regular basis, but it is best to address joint pain right away.
