Planning, booking and hosting budget-friendly, judgment-free weddings is the objective of The Heart of It All. The new wedding chapel is under construction at 314 N. Fourth St.
Vesta and Dave Sterenchock offer weddings that are for anyone regardless of their religion or lifestyle. The licensed couple specializes in alternative weddings, LGBT, hand-fasting, eco-friendly and themed events. He plays acoustic guitar, and she has been trained in wedding planning.
Opening in April, they are booking weddings now. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Phone 446-6516. They're on Facebook at theheartofitallweddings.
All Things Art opens
Art supplies, classes and handcrafted gifts are offered at All Things Art now open at 7880 Franklin St. (south of Prairie Avenue between Highway 95 and Government Way).
Classes include watercolors, pen and ink, oil painting, acrylic painting, sketching and drawing. Owner-artist-instructor Penny Moore has 22 years of training and has been teaching adults and youths since 1998. She has written three art curriculum guides for early childhood education, has had many children students and sold her work at Art in the Park since the late 1990s.

Food, beverage at The Gourmet Way
Good foods, kitchen items, cooking classes and wines are offered by new owner Tiffani Roesler at The Gourmet Way in Hayden Creek Plaza at 8222 Government Way.
With human nutrition, good foods and cooking as the emphasis, the business offers kitchen goods, gourmet foods and wines, gift baskets, kitchen gadgets, seasonal serveware and entertainment items. Different chefs and cuisines are offered at cooking classes, and wine tastings and a wine club have started under Tina Lloyd.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and cooking classes are 6-8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays. Phone 762-1333.

- Watch for news on Timber Gastropub in Post Falls and a Maverik convenience-gas store to be built in the northwest corner of Highway 95 and Hayden Avenue.
- Roger's Burgers at 155 W. Neider Ave. is now Roger's Ice Cream & Burgers as has been the store on Sherman Avenue. It has added 17 flavors of hand-dipped ice cream, shakes and malts to its menu of burgers and fries.
- The "coming soon" sign for Massage Envy is gone from an Ironwood Square storefront. And Noodle Express is gone in Post Falls.
- Long ago seaboard Marines were called "leathernecks" as they wore stiff leather collars to fend off attempted saber cuts while boarding enemy ships.
