Highway construction to resume west of Whitefish
The Daily Inter Lake | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 9 years, 10 months AGO
A second round of reconstruction work on U.S. 93 west of Whitefish begins April 13 from Karrow Avenue to Mountainside Drive.
Schellinger Construction crews will work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The project, to be completed in July, includes the addition of sidewalks and a bike path extending past Lion Mountain Road, along with new water, sewer, and storm-drain lines, pedestrian tunnels at Whitefish Lake Golf Course, retaining walls and street lighting. The highway will be widened and landscaping will be completed.
During construction hours, traffic occasionally will be reduced to one lane, which may create increased congestion, delays, temporary loss of access and detours for adjacent residents and businesses.
Those impacted are encouraged to choose alternate routes when possible and tune into public service announcements on radio stations 106.3 FM, 103.1 FM and 880 AM for regular updates.
The first half of the project was completed last November.
