SANDPOINT — Bond was reduced Wednesday for a young Sandpoint man charged with stabbing another man on New Year’s Eve.
Judge Lori Meulenberg agreed to lower Tyler John Bowlby-Brooks’ bail from $250,000 to $75,000, court records show. She also set a preliminary hearing for May 6 to determine if Bowlby-Brooks should stand trial in 1st District Court.
Bowlby-Brooks, 18, is charged with attempted murder in connection with the confrontation outside his Sandpoint home. He admitted stabbing a 19-year-old in the neck and torso, according to reports filed by Sandpoint Police.
The alleged victim survived the attack. The knife blows barely missed major arteries, Bonner County Prosecutor Louis Marshall has said.
