Fred Lee Reed, 87, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, passed away April 27, 2015, at home.
Fred was born July 17, 1928, to parents Judd Reed and Bernice Fitzsimmons, and was raised on a farm in Mica Flats. He moved to Coeur d'Alene at age 14, where he graduated from high school.
Fred served in the U.S. Army from Sept. 22, 1950, to July 2, 1952, during the Korean War. He married Dorothy Thompson of Coeur d'Alene on Nov. 1, 1952.
Fred worked for Kaiser Aluminum, retiring after 30 years, then worked for Coeur d'Alene Homes for 17 years.
Survivors include Fred's wife, Dorothy; his two sisters, Margaret and Jane; and one brother, John; three sons and numerous grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015, at the Post Falls Senior Center, 1215 E. Third Ave., Post Falls, Idaho.
