• Help sought for Rathdrum garden

RATHDRUM - The Rathdrum Parks and Recreation Department and the Rathdrum Community Garden organization are seeking volunteers of all ages to assist with a spring cleanup of the garden next to the parks department on Main Street from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring their rakes, shovels and hoes. The event will also offer a gardening networking opportunity.

• Concert benefits senior center and food bank

The community is invited to enjoy some good, clean fun while supporting two local nonprofits.

The family-friendly event will feature a concert by musician Carli Osika. Opening acts include acrobatics by the Flip Factory followed by comedian Adam Kessler.

The fundraiser is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 8, at the Kroc Center in Coeur d'Alene, and will benefit the Hayden Senior Center and Jumpin' Beans Mobile Food Bank. Tickets are $12/adults and $5/children 11 and under, and may be purchased at Hayden and Coeur d'Alene Mountain West Bank branches, the Hayden Senior Center or through the Tickets West box office at www.ticketswest.com.

The Hayden Senior Center works with the community to provide programs, recreational activities and services encouraging active, healthy and independent lifestyles for older adults. Jumpin' Beans Mobile Food Bank serves disabled and vulnerable individuals in our community.
