SANDPOINT — Tom Cleveland has announced he is seeking election to the Zone 4 seat on the Lake Pend Oreille School District’s board of trustees.

Cleveland faces Geraldine Lewis in the May 19 election.

Cleveland, a grandfather who lives in the Selle Valley, said he was motivated to run after hearing the concerns of parents and other citizens who feel they don’t have enough of a voice in their children’s education. He began attending school board meetings more than eight years ago to gain insight into how the district and the school board function.
