Royal finishes strong at Naches

ROYAL CITY - Royal High School finished 5th in boys competition and 4th in girls competition at the 29-school Naches Underberg Invitational at Naches last week.

Joe Lang exhibited post-season form, winning three events and setting one meet record. He sailed 43 feet in the triple jump.

His other victories were in the 110 hurdles and the 400 relay. He finished second in the long jump.

Jacob Lee, who recently started running after a football injury last fall, produced a sparkling time of 54.96 to win the 400.

Maggie Delay had an outstanding pole vault of 9-6 for second place. She was also on the runner-up 800 relay that clocked 1:51.84. Kay Lester clocked 2:29.56 in the 800 for third place.
