A new website focused on Whitefish events and activities is making its debut this month.

ThisWeekWhitefish.com highlights local events, faces and places and serves as a local’s guide to planning a Whitefish adventure.

The site is a new venture of the Whitefish Pilot and its sister company Hagadone Digital.

“The mission is to get in front of the community and show them all the things they can do and enjoy in the area,” said Doug Schust, chief operating officer of Hagadone Digital. “The localized thing is not always done well. We have an opportunity to come out with a great local website for the community.”

Content for ThisWeekWhitefish.com comes from writers and photographers with their feet on the ground in Whitefish. Key features include destination reviews, activity ideas, trail guides, lodging and dining directories, and photo galleries showing off the area.

It’s the site’s hyper-local perspective and timeliness that makes it valuable to both visitors and people who call Whitefish home year-round, said Whitefish Pilot editor Matt Baldwin, who is managing ThisWeekWhitefish.com.

“This site is built and maintained by folks who live here,” said Baldwin. “We can provide that unique voice of a local expert.”

A main feature of ThisWeekWhitefish.com is the upcoming-events calendar focused on Whitefish concerts, festivals, art openings and shows.

“It really feels like the Whitefish shoulder season is getting shorter every year,” Baldwin said. “There’s something going on every weekend, in all seasons. We’re thrilled to have a platform to highlight all of Whitefish’s happenings.”

ThisWeekWhitefish.com also serves as a strong marketing outlet for local businesses.

Schust said Hagadone Digital utilizes the most sophisticated online analytics, helping clients focus their marketing message.

“Thanks to the incredible analytics, we know what visitors are clicking on, but also what they’re reading and how much time they’re spending there,” he said. “This allows us to give consumers more of the content they’re looking for and allows advertisers to market more effectively.”
