PREP TENNIS: Two Vikings in girls singles title hunt

LEWISTON - Shell Luo and Gabby Kauer remain in the hunt in girls singles, and three other Coeur d'Alene High teams are playing for third place today in the 5A Region 1 tournament.
Teams of Kennan Orlandi/Lauren Carlsen (girls doubles), Joey Jeske/Garrett Curtis (boys doubles), Pierre Schrambach/Kyle Schneider (boys doubles) and Sara Walker/Ross Clark (mixed doubles) will play for third place today.
Jeske and Curtis will face Schrambach and Schneider in the third-place match.
The top three in each division advance to the state 5A tournament next Friday and Saturday at the Boise Racquet and Swim Club.

Lakeland pair
in consolations
SANDPOINT - Colin Burkhalter (boys singles) and Amanda Bear (girls singles) are still alive for Lakeland in the consolation bracket after the first day of the 4A Region 1 tennis championships at Travers Park, Lakeview Courts and City Beach.
Action concludes today, with consolation matches slated to start at 9:30 a.m. and championships after that at Lakeview Park and Travers Park.
