MISSOULA — Missoula Loyola-Sacred Heart’s Joslynn Haran hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the first inning and Hannah Hirning struck out 12 batters in five innings to boost the Breakers (15-8 overall, 11-7 Western B-C) to a 10-1 win over Eureka (5-17, 4-14) on Tuesday to advance to the Western B-C divisional tournament.

Eureka’s Courtney Lemer hit a solo home run in the second inning to get the Lions back in the contest, but the Breakers bats were too much.

Haran hit a solo home run in the third inning, one of three Loyola scored in the frame. The Breakers scored five runs in the sixth inning to put the game out of reach, ending the Lions’ season.

Lemer was 2 for 3 at the plate and struck out one and walked six from the circle. Erynn Thier and Rylee Morgan picked up the only other hits for Eureka.

In other play-ins, Deer Lodge beat Troy 7-4, breaking a tie with three runs in the bottom of the sixth. Plains-Hot Springs beat Thompson Falls 16-5 and Florence topped Drummond-Phillipsburg 16-0.
