A handful of Whitefish students earned high honors at the DECA International Career Development Conference last month in Orlando, Fla.

Keaton Grove placed in the top-10 in sports and entertainment marketing, Arden Greenwod placed top-10 in retail merchandising, and Bergen Carloss, Walter Sobba and Sam Benkleman were finalists in entrepreneurship innovation planning.

The conference included 18,000 students competing for international awards and scholarships.

DECA prepares students for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management.

The competitive event uses role-plays, career cluster exams, online simulations and written projects to evaluate students.
