A 34-year-old Hungry Horse man faces two counts of felony burglary and one count of felony witness tampering after he broke into two trailer homes in Evergreen on April 23 to elude police officers.

Richard Bisbee faces up to 20 years for each of the burglary charges and a $50,000 fine. His arraignment is scheduled for May 7.

According to court records, a Montana Highway Patrol trooper who was trying to stop Bisbee while on his motorcycle in Kalispell followed Bisbee to the White Birch RV and Campground on Shady Lane.

Several sheriff’s deputies had joined in the pursuit, but Bisbee escaped by riding across lawns and in between trailers.

The RV park manager told officers which trailer Bisbee had gone into.

As the officers approached, a woman in a neighboring trailer told officers that Bisbee had broken into her trailer and offered her $100 to keep quiet and not call police.

Instead, she yelled and pushed Bisbee out of the trailer.

One of the deputies used a PA to call Bisbee out of the next-door trailer. After Bisbee was arrested, the man who lived there told officers he felt threatened and trapped in his home.

Bisbee was assigned a public defender. He posted bond on April 24 and was released.
