Bigfork boys, girls top Western B track

MISSOULA — The Bigfork boys and girls had a banner day at the Western B Divisional track and field meet on Friday at Dornblaser Stadium.

The boys, with 72 points, top the standings along with the girls, with 67.

Bigfork’s Bryn Morley won the 1,600 (4:54.64), Gabby Eaton took first in the pole vault (9-6), Logan Morley won the 800 (1:59.21) and 3,200 (9:52.82) and Carson Cantrell won the pole vault (13-0).

Bigfork’s other first was turned in by the girls in the 400 relay.

Bigfork’s Makena Morley finished second in the 1,600 (4:58.07).

Eureka’s Nolan Hofstee had the top throw in the shot put (49-1 1/2).

One record was set with Hailey Phillips of Plains winning the 400 in 57.63. That bettered the old mark of Dana Macaluso of Bigfork, set in 1992 at 58.10.

Troy’s Sean Opland won the boys 400 (50.69).

The divisional meet concludes today.
