Confusion delays fire response

CAREYWOOD — Is your address clearly marked at the end of your rural driveway? If not, emergency services has a cautionary tale for you.
According to Selkirk Fire, Rescue & EMS, a Tuesday night fire caused by a wood burning stove at 199 Homestead Hollow, caused an estimated $30,000 in damage.
It was damage that could have been reduced by a quicker response. A response that was hindered because emergency crews were unable to locate the home due to the lack of clearly marked address identifier at the end of the rural driveway.
