Twins sweep Rangers; win streak at 8 games

WHITEFISH — The Glacier Twins A pushed their win streak to eight games Saturday evening by sweeping an American Legion baseball doubleheader from the Kootenai Valley Rangers.

The Twins won the opener 11-1 in six innings and took the nightcap 11-5.

A.J. Wetsch went the final five innings, allowing four hits and striking out seven, in Game 1.

Jayce Fagerland, Vinny Smith, Jesse Walburn and Derek Kastella had two hits each.

Smith led with three RBIs.

Colton Henrie went 3 for 3 to lead Kootenai Valley.

The Glacier Twins (9-1) play at the Missoula Mavericks AA today. The doubleheader begins at 1 p.m. It’s the first roadtrip for the Twins this season.

In the second game, Glacier outhit Kootenai Valley 15-7.

Kyler Howke, Colten Parker and Walburn had three hits each.

Tim Carvey and Dawson Henrie also doubled.
