Kevin Steading was born in Coeur d'Alene on Nov. 23, 1984, and passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Rathdrum on May 12, 2015, after a brief illness with congestive heart failure.

Kevin graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School and went to work at SSS Cabinets with his brother Christopher Steading, where he learned to build and install cabinets. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting with Christopher. He then went to work for the Coeur d'Alene Press as a newspaper carrier for the past five years, delivering papers to the lake homes on Hayden Lake. He was a hard worker, responsible and caring, and loved to help his dad repair the family vehicles.

Kevin will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marilyn Lange; and grandfathers Cecil Steading and Robert Olson.

Kevin leaves his father and mother, Richard and Janis Steading; brothers Steven Steading, Jason Steading, Christopher Steading and sister-in-law Natalie Steading; nephew Christian Steading; grandmother Myrtle Olson; aunt Gail and uncle Tom Pecelunas; uncles Michael and David Steading; uncle Robert Olson and aunt Mary Olson, cousins Amy and Glenn Olson; uncle Russell and aunt Cheryl Olson, and cousin Caleb Olson.

Our lives were touched by Kevin's intelligence, gentleness and easy going personality. Our past 30 years together have passed too swiftly. We will always love you, Kevin, and will miss you until we meet again in Heaven.

The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel, at 373 E. Hayden Ave., Hayden. A luncheon will be held following the service at Seasons Restaurant, 209 Lakeside Ave., Coeur d'Alene.

Because of his love for our family's dogs and cats, it is suggested that donations be sent to the Kootenai Humane Society.
