Home a total loss in Alberton fire

ALBERTON – A fire that began early Tuesday May 12, at approximately 4 a.m. resulted in the complete destruction of resident’s home. According to information from the scene, one woman was able to escape from the house but did suffer minor injuries.

The Frenchtown Fire Department responded to the scene but the home was a total loss by the time first responders arrived. Alberton School District Superintendent Clay Acker made the decision to cancel classes on Tuesday due to smoke in the vicinity of the school. A scheduled school board was still held that night.
