Dave Graybill: The Fishin' Magician

As you make plans for the long weekend coming up here are a couple of things I learned last week.
First of all the Colville tribe has put an additional 21,000 triploid rainbow into Rufus Woods Reservoir. By my count they have planted close to 50,000 triploids in the reservoir this spring. Fishing here might be worth a try.
While fishing at Park Lake recently I learned that trout fishing was slow here due to a hatch brought on by the cooler weather. Those that made the very short trip up to nearby Deep Lake got limits. The trout were 10 to 12 inches and plentiful.
I recently fished for bass on Park Lake and got some nice smallmouth. The big news for spring salmon anglers is the opening of the Wenatchee and Icicle rivers on Saturday. Both of these rivers are loaded with springers and fishing should be very good, even with the low water conditions.
Just in time for these openings Hooked on Toys in Wenatchee is offering a free seminar on fishing for spring salmon with Stuart Hurd. It will take place at the store on Wenatchee Avenue on Sunday the 24th starting at 11 a.m.

Mild weather sets stage for more fishing
We've had a lot of wet but actually pretty mild weather in the region. Anglers that like to chase steelhead have had good conditions for it.
