The Glacier Twins A team had a decidedly up and down week in Legion baseball. On May 16, they hammered Kootenai Valley in a doubleheader, taking the opener 11-1 and winning the nightcap 11-5.
But the next day, AA Missoula returned the favor, downing the Twins 10-1 in the opener and 14-0 in the nightcap. The losses marked the end of an eight-game winning streak for the Twins.
Josh Harrington and Trevor Cunningham held the Twins to three hits in the opening win. Nick Yovetich went the distance for Missoula in the second game, holding the Twins (9-3) to four hits and no runs.
Jesse Walburn went 2 for 3 for the Twins in the first game. Kyler Howke was 2 for 2 for the Twins in the second game. The Twins swept the Mavericks on May 2 in Whitefish.
Against Kootenai Valley, Vinny Smith went 2 for 3 with three RBIs in the opener. Colten Parker was 3 for 5 in the nightcap. Greyson Bistodeau got the win on the mound.
The Twins have a nine-inning outing on May 20 at Memorial Park at 7 p.m. versus the Glacier Outlaws of the Mountain Rainier Professional Baseball League. The Twins follow that by playing in the Memorial Day Tournament in Missoula, which begins Saturday.
