Seattle baseball

Sutton, a freshman from Coeur d'Alene High, finished the regular season with a .297 batting average (27 for 91) with five doubles, playing in 38 games and starting 21 for the Redhawks. The Redhawks (29-25) will compete in the Western Athletic Conference tournament tthis weekend.

Madison Seaman

Wyoming track and field

Seaman, a junior from Coeur d'Alene High, competed in the Mountain West Championships in San Diego, placing sixth in the discus with a throw of 159 feet, 10 inches. The mark is a personal best and ranks seventh in school history and seventh in the conference.

Casey Stangel

Washington softball

Stangel, a sophomore from Lake City High, finished the season with a .340 batting average (50 for 147) with 18 doubles and 27 runs scored for the Huskies (42-17), who had their season come to an end in the Tuscaloosa Regional in the NCAA tournament on Sunday. In the circle, Stangel went 9-4 with a 4.55 earned run average, striking out 32 in 72 1/3 innings.

Drew Turbin

Dallas Baptist baseball

Turbin, a senior from Coeur d'Alene High, was named to the Missouri Valley Conference first team. Turbin, a two-time conference player of the week, is 19th in the nation in on-base percentage (.485) and leads the 12th ranked Patriots (41-11) in hitting with a .344 batting average and is tied for the team lead with 14 doubles.

Lindsie Scholwinski

Spokane softball

Scholwinski, a sophomore from Coeur d'Alene High, struck out four and lowered her earned run average to 0.81, leading the Sasquatch (46-4) to the Northwest Athletic Conference championship with a 12-3 win against Mt. Hood on Monday at the Owens Sports Complex at Delta Park in Portland, Ore. Scholwinski finished the season 29-0 with nine shutouts and 278 strikeouts in 198 2/3 innings pitched.

Sydnie Malloy

Spokane softball

Malloy, a sophomore shortstop from Timberlake High, finished the season with a .469 batting average (69 for 147) with 13 doubles, two triples and 32 RBIs. Malloy also had eight stolen bases in 45 games for the Sasquatch.
