Boat treated like trash

COEUR d'ALENE - A turquoise and white junked boat was left on the side of a road near Rathdrum. Not once. Twice.
On Wednesday, May 20, a Kootenai County Sheriff's Office deputy responded to North Icehouse Lane and East Diagonal Road following a call for illegal dumping.
The boat - with no motor or trailer - was on the north side of Diagonal.
"The boat appeared to be junked as the inside was full of pine needles, rotting, the seats ripped out, and the electrical components removed," the deputy's incident report said.
An identification number was located, but the boat wasn't registered to anybody.
A "48-hour notice of removal sticker" was found, indicating a deputy had tagged the boat on May 2 after finding it dumped. Using information from the tag, it was determined the boat had been initially dumped just 3.5 miles away.
This time, "due to the boat not being a vehicle and essentially being junk/trash, the boat was left on the side of the road," the report said.
Highway district officials were then contacted to have them remove it.
