THANKS: Autism Walk a great success

We at the Panhandle Autism Society would like to thank all the community members that made the Walk for Autism Awareness 2015 such a success! Not only were we able to come together and celebrate all abilities, we raised almost $15,000 to further our mission to support, educate and advocate for persons and families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder in North Idaho.

First we'd like to thank all the people that walked to help raise Autism Awareness! We'd like to thank - Our Diamond Sponsors: Imagine Behavioral; Anderson Palmer George and Walsh PLLC. Our Gold Sponsors: Kootenai Health; Coeur d'Alene Pediatrics; Carpet One; Wildrose Graphics; Family Support Services of North Idaho LLC; North Star Child Development Center; Syringa Family Partnership LLC. Our Silver Sponsors: Periwinkle Children's Therapy; High Road Human Services and Coeur d'Alene Insurance. Our Bronze Sponsors: The Learning Garden; Taylor Made Landscaping; Dave Smith Motors; Super Stars Therapy for Kids; Yokes Fresh Market; Allied Bail Bonds and All North Idaho Bail Bonds.

We'd like to thank all our raffle and random prize donors; with special mention to the Coeur d'Alene Casino and The Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course. Thank you to all the volunteers. And a very special thanks to JumpN2Fun, James and Clay Ownbey-DJ's, and Dutch Brothers Coffee for making the walk extra extra fun.

The Walk for Autism Awareness is currently the Panhandle Autism Society's main fundraiser and means of operation for the organization. PAS is compiled of an all voluntary board. All funds are used to further our mission to support, educate and advocate for persons affected by ASD. We offer social groups such as the "Teen Club" and "Young Adult Group." We offer educational trainings like "Autism 101." We offer "Individual Mini Grants" to help people affected by ASD obtain therapeutic items not covered by insurance and respite with "Parents Day Out." Also, when the need arises we send a representative to Boise to advocate for the Autism Community in Idaho's five northern counties. If you'd like more information, would like to donate or would like to help us continue our mission go to PanhandleAutismSociety.org or email info@panhandleautismsociety.org.

Finally we'd like to thank everyone that came together, celebrated, reached out and supported the Autism Community throughout Autism Awareness Month in April.

GOLF/WALK: Thanks to all involved

Thank you from Family Promise of North Idaho for making our Golf/Walk event a success. It was a beautiful day at The Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course for golfing to help homeless families achieve sustainable housing. The FPNI walkers donated money to walk along the Centennial Trail through The Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course gates and to the event center. They were treated to a fabulous view of the lake and the floating green. Our thanks go out to all the participants.

It would not have been possible to hold the event without the generous donations from sponsors Perfection Tire, Frahm & Associates, Select Properties, Century 21 Beutler & Associates, ACI, ACES Community Services, Hecla Mining Limited/Lucky Friday Unit, Inland Northwest Bank, bankcda, Henry-Griffitts Golf and Potlatch1 Credit Union. We had businesses that worked with us closely to keep our costs down: Pyramid Printing, Ocular Logic, Scratch Hub, The Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course, Coeur d'Alene Press, Coeur d'Alene Living Local and the Inlander. FPNI is also very grateful for the anonymous pledge of $5,000.

Included in the event was a silent auction, which was a great success, because of Hayden Ace Hardware financial donation to make bidding sheets with a carbon. We also had donations of superb auction items from Paddy's Sports Bar, Coeur d'Alene Casino, Holiday Inn Express on Seltice, Links Golf Course, Randall Henry, Matt Bunn, Advanced Benefits, North Idaho College Athletic Department, Austin and Jeni Fazio, Randy Henry's Dynamic Golf and Linda Hansen.

Prizes and gift bags for the event were donated by Fire Artisan Pizza, Bistro on Spruce, Caddy Shack, Randall Henry, Teri and Bill Burch, Mary Robinette, Jake's Dry Dock, and American Insurance.

A special thank you to all the volunteers and organizers. We are truly blessed to live in such a giving community.
