Leona Eilene (Payne) Grover, 82, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and most recently great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, Donella, and son in-law, Dale, with whom she spent her most recent years in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Leona was born in Omak, Wash., on April 14, 1933, to Lorenzo and Ester Payne.

Leona and her husband, Mel Grover, spent many happy years together enjoying gold panning, traveling, painting, creating art and spending hours with family. While living in Denver, they became avid fans and season ticket holders of the Denver Broncos. They enjoyed many a Sunday at Mile High Stadium, until relocating to Idaho, where they continued their love of watching and wagering on each game with family and friends.

Leona was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Dale and Donella Eaton; and her sister, Aletha Green.

Leona had the rare opportunity to have all of her grandchildren residing locally. Her grandchildren include T.J. and Mandy Thomas, Christy and Kyle Miller, David Eaton, Ryan and Shawna Thomas, and Becky and Frank Williams. Leona's great-grandchildren Donella, Dayton, Miranda, Danaka, Dalayna, Hailey, Autumn, Colby, Brandon, Cassie and Leo also enjoyed a close relationship with her. Leona was fortunate to have recently been able to spend her final months holding her great-great-granddaughter, Norah.

Leona will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family takes comfort in knowing that Leona is now with her Lord and Savior.

A private service will be held at a later date.
