Plum Creek awards scholarships to WHS students

Plum Creek has awarded scholarships to three Whitefish students.
The Plum Creek Scholarship recipients from Whitefish High School are:
Jenny Brown, of Kalispell, daughter of Sylvia and Chris Brown, who is a Plum Creek employee. Jenny plans to attend Evans Hairstyling College, where she will study cosmetology. She was a four-year member of the Whitefish High School Readers Club.
Micah McFeely, of Whitefish, daughter of Michael McFeely and Kerry Harp McFeely. She will attend Montana State University, where she will major in dietetics. President of the National Honor Society, Micah is state champion in the Health Occupations Students of America Creative Problem Solving competition.
Claire Watts, of Whitefish, daughter of Bernadette Duperron and Shawn Watts, who is a Plum Creek employee. Claire plans to attend St. John’s College, where she will major in humanities. One of 65 recipients of the U.S. Department of State’s Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Scholarships, Claire is living and studying in Rebat, Morocco.

Rehberg to attend rally for Jesus statue
Montana Rep. Denny Rehberg will attend a public rally in Whitefish on Nov. 10 in support of the World War II statue of Jesus on Big Mountain. Rehberg will be at the VFW Post 276 on Baker Avenue at 1 p.m.
