COEUR d'ALENE — The Community Brass handbell choir from Community United Methodist Church is taking its music on the road tonight.

Actually, beside the road.

The group will perform a free outdoor concert from 5:15 to 6 p.m. at the southeast corner of Ramsey Road  and Hanley at the church.

The group, which has 11 members ranging from high schoolers to senior citizens, hopes drivers will give a little beep or wave or walkers will stop and listen. Cynthia Marlette directs the choir. The bells are various sizes from two that can be played in each hand to one that requires two hands to lift.

The concert will be postponed in case of rain.
