A Los Angeles man who had played for the Glacier Outlaws baseball team has been arrested and charged with rape.
Eric Alberto Cordova, 27, faces one count of sexual intercourse without consent. He was a pitcher for the Whitefish-based baseball team.
According to court documents, Cordova and another man met two women in downtown Whitefish on May 23. The four eventually ended up at the home of one of the women.
One woman told police that she went to bed to go to sleep and woke up later to find Cordova having sex with her.
Cordova allegedly admitted to police that he got into bed with the woman. Sexual assault exams were conducted on both Cordova and the woman.
A representative for the Glacier Outlaws said Cordova was immediately released from the team upon notice of the arrest.
Cordova is being held in the Flathead County Detention Center. He could face up to 100 years in prison if convicted.
His arraignment is set for June 18.
