RATHDRUM - Tucker Price hit a two-run double to right field in a six-run bottom of the first inning, sparking the Northern Lakes Mountaineers past the Spokane Bandits in the team's inaugural game as a AA program on Wednesday at Gorton Field at Lakeland High.

"The team played great," Northern Lakes coach Pat Capone said. "They had awesome energy and focus all game long. It was really cool to see our freshman Max Baker have two hits in his varsity debut. Brian Howell, Mike Bodak and Kenny Cooper threw the ball well on the bump."

Bodak also drove in two runs for Northern Lakes, a team made up of players from Lakeland and Timberlake High, sponsored by the Athol American Legion post.

Cody Allen scored two runs for Northern Lakes, which hosts the Central Washington Spuds of Moses Lake in a nonleague doubleheader starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Lakeland High.
