Daydra Collene Phillips Peery, 80

Daydra Collene (Phillips) Peery went to her home in heaven on May 27, 2015. She fought the battle with cancer 33 years and won. She is cancer free in her new home!

Daydra was born Jan. 1, 1935, to John and Ruby (Riddell) Philips in Portland, Ore.

Daydra's ministry for many years was to minister to women younger than her, mentoring them until moments before departing this world. They all called her Mom or Sister. Daydra was musically gifted - playing guitar, piano, autoharp and keyboard for many years. She was Minister of Music in their Church at Gleneden Beach, Ore.

Daydra loved the outdoors, backpacking miles of the Pacific Crest Trail in earlier years. She had a talent for starting plants, especially roses, and loved gardening.

She is survived by sons Steve and Ron (Leslie), and daughter Fawna Heath (Michael); stepchildren Loree Kock (Evan), Todd Peery (Carol), and Evan Peery (Michelle); grandchildren Stephanie, Duane, Travis, Joel, Caleb, and Hannah; and great-grandson, Cannon.

Daydra and her husband, Ed, volunteered at Hospice Thrift Store in Post Falls until a month before she passed on to Heaven. She would like contributions to be made to Hospice of North Idaho, whose staff cared for her the last weeks of her life.

A memorial service will be held for Daydra at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, at English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N. Spokane St., Post Falls, Idaho. Come, dear ones, and celebrate Daydra's entry into Heaven.
